About Sketch By Albert
Sketch by Albert was first opened in Houston’s Montrose area at the end of 2007. Very quickly, it garnered rave reviews and was featured in all local lifestyle magazines and press. Albert’s style blends his European training with Texas-sized creativity. He learned the skills from the best in the floristry business in London, catering to the most discerning customers (and the odd difficult extravagant celebrities…) While he worked with these European cutting-edge florists which influenced his contemporary style, he has also learned to adapt to local expectations, and can now swim easily from traditional to contemporary. The shop reflects his style and is quite unique in Houston. Apart from his signature fresh flower arrangements, he sells orchids, plants, and a selection of unique contemporary vases from Europe unique in Houston. Since 2020, the shop now located in Inwood Forest is opened by appointment only.
About Albert Villalba
Albert Villalba is a Houston-born floral artist who studied floristry in a leading floral school in London and did internships with the most well-known florists there, delivering to celebrities (music stars, Michelin-starred chefs, etc), hotels, restaurants, salons, and casinos. In 2007 he came back to Houston, where he grew up, to establish his own brand.
A year after opening, Albert was very proud to see his shop Sketch by Albert crowned “Best in Houston 2008 Florist” by Houston Modern Luxury magazine. He was featured in almost all local luxury and lifestyle magazines. He was even mentioned in the national Lucky magazine.
